Maria Sharapova has been banned for two years by the International Tennis Federation for using a prohibited drug.
Until a few days ago, she was the highest female paid athlete in the world, earning up to 19.3 million dollars a year. Now she’s number 2 behind another tennis player, Serena Williams.
The five-time Grand Slam winner said she can’t accept the unfairly harsh ban and will appeal.
I’ve had the chance to cover Sharapova from 2007 until 2014 in several tournaments in Southern California.

This ban is way way to bad the governing body wants their heads tested.
